    Day 1: On the old caravan trail
    Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Gudauri, Kasbegi
    Drive to the old capital Mtskheta at the intersection of Military and Silk Road. Visit Jvari- (Cross) Monastery (585-605). Here on this hill, St. Nino, who introduced Christianity in Georgia in the fourth century, erected a monumental cross, a triumphal sign of the Christianization of the country. Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) the cathedral of the life-giving pillar-svetitskhoveli was for centuries the coronation and burial site of Georgian monarchs and was considered the main church of Georgian Orthodox Apostle Church. Continue on the old Silk Road to the Great Caucasus. Visit the Ananuri fortress (16th-18th century), ride over the Gudauri ski area and cross the 2,395m high cross-pass.

    Day 2: Mythical Mountain Kasbegi
    Gudauri, Kazbegi, Gergeti Monastery, Darial Gorge, Stepantsminda
    After breakfast, hike (about 3-4 hours) to Trinity Church Tsminda Sameba (14th century, 2.170m). If you are standing in front of Kazbek (5.047m) and looking up to this impressive mountain, you will soon notice that it is here on a mythical mountain. According to the Amirani legend, it is the mountain to which Prometheus, which is called Georgian legend Amirani, was smashed out of revenge for having stolen the fire from the gods and brought them to the people. In the afternoon drive along the river Terek to the gloomy deep and legendary Darial Gorge to the border of the Russian Federation.
    Overnight in Stepantsminda (B / - / A)
    Day 3: Hiking in the Great Caucasus
    Djuta, Snotal, Chaukhi Massiv
    Hike: Walking time approx. 5-6 hours, altitude difference about 200m up and 200m down
    Drive to the village of Djuta (2.165m), the second highest village in Europe, located on a mountain slope. It is 7km from the border with Ingushetia. Hike into the Sno valley along the river in a breathtaking landscape, ever higher up to the steep basalt rocks of the Chaukhi Massiv (3.842m). Picnic in nature. After the trip back to Tbilisi.
