Day 1: Shinvali Reservoir, Bear Cross Pass 2.676m, Shatili
Drive across the Zhinvali Reservoir towards north east along the river Pshavis Aragvi in the Great Caucasus. Crossing the 2.676 m high Bear Cross Pass, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view in both directions. In about four hours you will reach the fortress of Shatili, a medieval fortified settlement with its fortified, towered farmsteads, built into the mountain slope, forming a castle as a whole.

Anatori burial place, ruins of Mutso
Day hike about 3 hours from Shatili (11km) along the river Aragvi to the village Mutso. On the way you will pass the village of Anatori. Since the 18th century the place has been a burial place. Here the inhabitants of the whole village are buried, who died of a plague epidemic. The settlement of Mutso consists of 30 fortified residential units. A steep mountain trail leads to the abandoned towers that formed a single massive fortress and are today considered unique monuments of Khevsureti.

Day 3: Shatili, Barisakho, Tbilisi
In the morning a small walk in old Shatili. In the fortress there are strong and proud 68 defensive towers, which represent astonishing medieval architecture of the central Caucasus. On the way to Tbilisi (optional) Stop in the village of Barisacho, visit the ethnographic museum. Return to Tbilisi.
